TLDR: A bilingual Shopify store needs separate locale URLs, accurate hreflang, fully translated visible content and metadata, stable canonical rules, unique product and collection copy, useful internal links, valid structured data, and analytics segmented by language and market.
Give every language a stable URL
Use Shopify Markets and localization settings so Hebrew and English pages have crawlable, shareable URLs. Avoid switching the visible language without changing the URL, because search engines and users need a stable address for each version.
Translate the full page
Titles, descriptions, headings, product information, collection introductions, filters, forms, image alt text, and supporting content should match the selected language. A Hebrew shell around an English product page creates a weak experience and weak relevance.
Use hreflang and canonical tags together
Each localized page should identify its language alternatives while keeping a self-referencing canonical for that locale. Test product, collection, article, and pagination templates after every theme or localization change.
Build collection pages as landing pages
Collections often carry valuable commercial intent. Give priority collections a clear heading, concise local introduction, helpful links, sensible filters, and product order that supports how people shop.
Write product content for the market
Manufacturer copy repeated across stores provides little distinction. Explain use, fit, specifications, delivery, returns, warranty, and local service in the language customers use when searching.
Check schema and performance
Validate product, offer, breadcrumb, organization, and article data. Keep images efficient, limit unnecessary apps, and measure Core Web Vitals on real mobile templates.
Measure by language and market
Segment organic landings, search terms, product engagement, add to cart, checkout starts, purchases, and revenue by locale and market. That makes the next content and conversion priorities visible.
